Patient Care Duties: The Mental Health Associate will assist patients with activities of daily living (feeding, bathing, dressing, etc), vital signs, height/weight and specialized tasks which may include Foley, NGT, ECG and Lab.
Additional Duties: The Mental Health Associate will act as a supportive member of the team who performs delegated tasks within the scope of education and training in the areas of supportive listening, educational group leadership and specifically assigned patient care tasks, especially in the areas of physical intervention, safety, and maintenance of therapeutic milieu. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
Education: Ideal candidates will possess an Associate Degree in Psychology, Social Services, Behavioral Science or related field. A Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Services, Behavioral Sciences or related field is highly preferred.
Experience: Preference will be give to applicants with patient care experience in an Inpatient/Acute Care Mental Health setting
Other Training or Special Skills: Ability to work effectively during crisis situations and proficient with de-escalation techniques. Must demonstrate good judgment, initiative, dependability and decision making skills. Patient education experience preferred.
Hiring Range: $10.53 - $12.90 per hour
Acceptance of a Mental Health Associate position requires the completion of
mandatory hospital Orientation for a full week, Monday-Friday 8a-5p.
