Unit Description:

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit: This is a 10 bed unit equipped to care for children who require constant and intensive care. Pediatric Intensivists are on site or on call 24 hours.  Parents are encouraged to stay with their child and may assist with care when feasible.

Pediatric Floor: This is a 22 bed unit with private rooms and is equipped to care for children with a wide variety of diagnosis. Parents are encouraged to stay with their child and participate in their care. A Child Life Specialist is available for procedural preparation and emotional support.  A playroom is available with toys, activities, video games and music therapy. A parent's room with a computer and a TV is accessible.

Kid's Korner: This is a 4-bed unit with hours from 7am to 7pm open Monday through Friday. Outpatient services include lab work, blood transfusions, endocrine studies, IV antibiotics administration, as well as surgery and sedation recovery. 

Pediatric Services is a family centered care environment that gives care specializing in treating children from birth to 18 years of age.  We are the only pediatric services available for children in Tallahassee and surrounding counties.

Job Summary:  The Registered Clinical Nurse (RN) is fundamental in achieving recognized world-class health care.  Assumes direct and indirect responsibility for the patient's care environment.  The primary responsibility is providing care through collaboration with health care team members and the autonomous application of the nursing process.  Also provides leadership, mentoring and role modeling for other members of the health care team.

Licensure:  FL Licensed Registered Nurse

Weekend and/or Holiday Rotation may be required.
Rotating Shifts may be required.
