Weekend Plan Requirements

Scheduling requirements: 36 hours between Friday, 7:00 a.m., and Monday, 7:00 p.m.  Each weekend schedule will be comprised of three shifts on three consecutive dates, which will always include Saturday and Sunday, and a third shift on either the consecutive Monday or Friday as defined by the Nurse Manager of the assigned unit. 

Required: One year of Registered Nurse clinical experience relative to the area in which the position is available.

Unit Description:

The Vogter-Neuro Intensive Care Unit  is a ten bed trauma unit. This unit specializes in the care of brain and spinal cord trauma patients as well as critical medical or surgical neurological patients. Patients are usually admitted through the Bixler Emergency Center or from other facilities in the surrounding area. TMH is the only local hospital designated as a Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Acute Care Facility by the State of Florida Department of Health.

The units received the AACN Circle of Excellence Team Award for 2006. TMH is the first hospital in Big Bend Area to be certified as a Primary Stroke Center by JCAHO.  The units have upheld the state of Florida certification for Brain and Spinal Cord Injury.   These units are also dedicated Neuro/Trauma.  The nursing staff is dedicated to compassionately providing competent care by educating, aiding, rehabilitating and counseling our patient-support system in an atmosphere of learning.

Job Summary: The Registered Clinical Nurse (RN) is fundamental in achieving recognized world-class health care.  Assumes direct and indirect responsibility for the patient's care environment.  The primary responsibility is providing care through collaboration with health care team members and the autonomous application of the nursing process.  Also provides leadership, mentoring and role modeling for other members of the health care team.
