The Food Service Porter performs a variety of dietary functions related to daily meal service in the hospital. Performs general sanitation duties throughout department in all areas. A large portion of this position involves working in the dish room, washing large pots and pans in the sink area. Operates dish cleaning equipment. Cleans dishroom floors, walls, and equipment.
Cleans floors by mopping, scrubbing and operating floor machine. Removes trash and recyclables from kitchen. Transports food to areas via truck or cart. Performs special cleaning assignments of all structural surfaces and equipment in the kitchen. Puts away stock and cleans food storage areas. Stores pots and utensils in a clean and protected way. Follows food safety rules. Performs other duties as assigned by manager which may include working similar positions such as tray line worker or cafeteria server.
Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred. Must have the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Experience: One year of related experience is required. Three years prior Health Care or Hospitality Industry experience preferred.
EMPLOYMENT WITH TMH IS CONTINGENT UPON THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A DRUG SCREEN, CRIMINAL HISTORY SEARCH AND HEALTH ASSESSMENT.
Hiring Range: $8.16--$9.59 per hour
