Description: The TMH Dialysis Unit Staff provide concentrated, specialized and skilled nursing care to Inpatients, Pre and Post Op Outpatients, and Emergency patients who require dialysis while in the hospital. The dialysis unit has six stations, on 5BN, to provide treatments. Four additional Hemodialysis machines and six portable reverse osmosis water machines allow the dialysis staff to provide bedside dialysis to the acute or chronic dialysis patients in their rooms, ICUs and the ER. The dialysis unit also provides Peritoneal dialysis. Two cycler machines are available for Continuous Cycler Peritoneal Dialysis (CCPD). The cycler is set up in the patient's room for overnight dialysis therapy. Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) is also available for manual peritoneal dialysis exchanges when the cycler exchanges are not therapy of choice.
Scheduled shift Mon-Friday. 930-6 postion may require earlier rotation to 630 or 730am start on some occasions. Required to work 2 Saturdays/schedule 7-330. Call required: 1.5 shifts per week (M-F)and Sat/Sun weekend call once per schedule.
Job Summary: The Registered Clinical Nurse (RN) is fundamental in achieving recognized world-class health care. Assumes direct and indirect responsibility for the patient's care environment. The primary responsibility is providing care through collaboration with health care team members and the autonomous application of the nursing process. Also provides leadership, mentoring and role modeling for other members of the health care team.
Licensure: FL Licensed Registered Nurse
Preferred: ICU experience and 2 years minumum experience as an RN.
