The nurse manager is responsible for all aspects of the unit/units' operation on a 24/7 basis. Leadership is required in: Clinical practice and evidence-based nursing care; integration of the TMH mission, vision, values, and strategic plan; human resource management and professional practice development; budget development and management; environmental management; regulatory readiness and standard compliance.
Unit Description: Designed to care, comfort and educate today's cancer patient and their family, the newly renovated Angie Deeb Cancer Unit (ADCU) includes the only inpatient oncology unit in the Big Bend Region and an Outpatient Unit with oncology certified nurses and chemotherapy provider nurses. Renovations include adjoining rooms for patient families and a "gathering place" for patients and families which includes a lounge area, kitchenette, media center and library. In addition, the halls are decorated with beautiful artwork made possible by the Lighthouse Legacies project. Located on the 7th floor, this unit provides a beautiful view of the Tallahassee landscape to patients and visitors.
The ADCU is the longest continually accredited Comprehensive Community Hospital Cancer Center with Commendation in the State of Florida.
EducationMinimum: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred
Preferred: Master's degree.
Minimum: Two years of job-related leadership experience
Preferred: Five years of job-related leadership experience
Minimum: Current RN license in Florida
Preferred: Certification in administrative practice or clinical specialty.
