Unit Description: The Diabetes Medical Care Unit is a 18 bed medical surgical unit (all private rooms) .The unit is committed to the care of the acutely ill patient with diabetes and other medical/surgical problem .The unit's ultimate goal is to provide patient centered care and to teach patients and their families basic survival skill to better manage their diabetes at home.
Job Description: Assist patients in carrying out activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, ambulating, toileting, etc.). Responsible for patient safety and implementing preventive skin care measures. Document I&O, V/S, etc. Functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse.
Education: High School Diploma/GED and Nurse Tech/CNA Course required. May substitute directly related experience for required education on a 1:1 basis.
Experience: 1 year of patient care experience preferred.
Hiring Range: $8.60 - $10.32 per hour
Acceptance of a Patient Care Assistant position requires the completion of mandatory hospital Orientation for a full week, Monday-Friday 8a-5p.
