Unit Description: The Internal Medicine Unit at TMH is a 36-bed inpatient medical-telemetry unit. With a culturally diverse staff and an average nurse-to-patient ratio of one to five, holistic patient care is provided in a nurturing environment to adults ages 18-100+. The highly skilled staff of the Internal Medicine Unit specializes in the care of patients being treated with medicine or surgery for pulmonary, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and metabolic conditions. The nursing staff of the Internal Medicine Unit is an integral partner with the other members of an active multi-disciplinary team committed to superior, quality care and an exceptional experience for patients and their family members. Job Description: Assist patients in carrying out activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, ambulating, toileting, etc.). Responsible for patient safety and implementing preventive skin care measures. Document I&O, V/S, etc. Functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse.
Education: High School Diploma/GED and Nurse Tech/CNA Course required. May substitute directly related experience for required education on a 1:1 basis.
Experience: 1 year of patient care experience preferred.
Hiring Range: $8.60 - $10.32 per hour
Acceptance of a Patient Care Assistant position requires the completion of mandatory hospital Orientation for a full week, Monday-Friday 8a-5p.
